An evaluation version of this software is deployed in a leading
National Institute in Goa. Management of databases relating to books,
CDs, magazines, publications and papers can be conveniently handled
with this generic software. The software allows easy re-configuration
based on user requirements for handling library data and incorporates
the following features:-
- Application is LAN enabled and
runs on a set of designated machines.
- Bar code scanner facility for
issue, return and muster of books.
- Separate User and Admin Logins.
While Admins have all permissions, Users can access data in
read-only mode.
- Tree view of all library entities.

- Creation of categories for Books
/ CDs based on three levels of grouping, for example, Book /
Computers / Hardware.
- Launching of search engines
for selected criteria using Wildcard characters for Books /
CDs by Topic / Author / Synopsis.
- Creation of categories for Magazines
based on four levels of classification, for example, Magazines
(Professional) / Monthly / Digit / Volume.
- Facility to incorporate
synopses of ten articles per magazine. Information on multiple
matches for search criteria generated on single page layout.
- Users can add proposals for induction
of new Books / CDs / Magazines.
- Auto generation of Accession
numbers
The software is presently configured to generate the
following reports :
- Details of current library
holdings (click
here to view snapshot) of Books / CDs / Magazines by Card
No.
- Proposals from users for purchase
of new Entities. User inputs on book reviews and synopses of
magazine articles can be documented for future references.
It is recommended that a page no. and a reference keyword be
included in the synopsis for each article of a magazine. The
librarian can feed up to 10 article synopses per magazine. This
will enable instant generation of information available in the
library database on a single page layout. Wildcards can be used
for the search
- List of members holding entities
beyond stipulated retention duration can be generated and a
report containing all delayed entities along with associated
fine can be viewed member-wise.
- All Books / CD arrivals after
a certain date / Accession No can be printed.
- Transaction details, i.e, Issue
& Return particulars for Books / CDs / Magazines by Card
No, can be printed separately for each member. If the Card No
is left blank then all transactions between specified dates
for a selected entity (Book* / CD* / Magazine*) ordered by Card
No. can be printed.
- History of All Transactions
for present and past members can be printed
